Time to make diets delicious again! We’ve given you our low syn snack ideas, but what about getting the most out of your everyday meals? We’re going to show you how to get your day off to a tasty, healthy, and Slimming-World-Approved start, with breakfast ideas which are low in fat but high in flavour and which will keep you full ’till lunchtime rolls around. Many of our breakfast ideas can be easily incorporated into any Slimming World diet regimen, so grab your favourite bowl – here are some easy, diet-safe morning meal options!
Not only is Weetabix wonderfully versatile breakfast option (really, you can put almost anything on it) but you can have two as your Slimming World Healthy Extra B! With some skimmed milk and some fruit on top for added flavour, it makes for a great low-fat but high-fibre breakfast that’s guaranteed to keep you fuller for longer.
If Weetabix isn’t your thing, bran flakes are also a great way to get your daily fibre in early-on, and with skimmed milk, one bowl gives you both your healthy extra A and B options!
More time on your hands?
If you’ve plenty of time on your hands and aren’t opposed to a little meal-prep, some overnight oats are a great breakfast option you can prepare the night before, and will have you looking forward to breakfast all night long! You’ll need a container and some porridge oats, plus yummy toppings like fruit, or some natural yoghurt which would provide your Healthy Extra A. These are easy to make and taste amazing, you can also take them on the go with a container which includes a spoon.
If you prefer a savoury start to your day, that’s no problem! There are lots of breakfast options aside from cereal! Our favourite is poached eggs! We know you’re thinking poached eggs are more trouble than they’re worth (does anyone know the right amount of time to boil them for?), but some handy poaching bags take out all the hassle and deliver delicious results every time. These go great with some wholemeal bread, as 2 slices = your healthy extra B!
On the go!
Not all of us have the luxury of being able to enjoy a leisurely breakfast, and when we have to be up and out in a hurry, it can be tempting to pick up a not-so-healthy snack on the way, or even skip the meal altogether! Neither of these is a good option, but luckily two (yes, you can even have 2!) Alpen Light Jaffa Cake bars count as your Healthy Extra B, so you can stay full even when navigating a tight schedule.
Better yet, some breakfast biscuits from Gullon which have no added sugar take up just 3.5 of your daily syn count, so these are also a great low-calorie breakfast option!
